How Vastu Works

Five elements
Vastu works with five elements: earth, water, fire, air and space. Each direction is linked to them, and the aim is to keep a balance in how each part of a home is used.
Directions first
A home is read from its directions, not its decor. The compass is set to True North, which can differ from a magnetic reading, and the steel and wiring in a building can pull a compass off further, so the reading is taken with care.
The centre stays open
The centre of the home, the Brahmasthan, is traditionally kept open and light. It is found where the diagonals of the plan outline meet.
Sixteen zones
From the centre, the plan is divided into 16 zones of 22.5 degrees each. Each is traditionally tied to a purpose, such as the kitchen in the south-east and the master bedroom in the south-west.
Use matched to zone
Vastu matches what a room is used for with where it sits. Where a room cannot move, simple corrections come first, and structural change is the last resort. It is a traditional framework, not a guarantee of outcomes.

Our Home Vastu Consultation can be conducted online using your floor plan, photographs, videos and directional information, or through an on-site consultation, depending on the property and requirement.

We find out the exact north of your plot or building and precisely grade the zones, to make sure that all zones are properly mapped.

A detailed study of the layout is carried out to identify the defective zones and the locations of major areas like toilets, kitchen and bedrooms.

We then understand the various issues and expectations of the client and try to improve and balance the energies through proper suggestions of remedies, which can be easily implemented without demolition or modification.

How much does this cost?

₹9,999 for an online consultation, or ₹24,999 if Acharya Gautam visits your home in person. Visits are included in the fee across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane; further afield the fee is unchanged and travel is added at cost, agreed with you before the appointment.

How does the consultation happen?

Your floor plan and property location are reviewed first, and a written report is sent within 2 to 3 working days. A 30-minute online discussion of that report follows, booked once the report is ready. Site visits are in person across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune; everywhere else your home is assessed from its floor plan.

Do I need a floor plan?

No. A hand-drawn sketch with rough room sizes works fine, or send photos on WhatsApp. Acharya Gautam will factor it in before the report is prepared.

Will I get anything in writing?

Yes. A written report with your remedies is shared before the discussion call, so you have it to refer back to.

Is the report generated by AI or software?

No. Every report is personally reviewed and written by Acharya Gautam, based on the floor plan, photos and property details you share — not an AI-generated or templated report.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Cancel more than 12 hours before a booked consultation and you receive a full refund. Inside 12 hours it will be rescheduled once at no cost. Once a consultation has taken place it cannot be refunded, because the work has been done. The full terms are in the refund policy.
